The Conservatory and the Sunken Garden

At the heart of Garfield Park Conservatory lies the Sunken Garden, a prominent flower and plant display. European traditional formal gardens spread across three acres make up the Sunken Garden. The garden is kept as it would have looked in the 1910s when George Kessler designed it. This includes seasonal fountains, elaborate flower displays, concrete urns and bowls. The tranquillity of this time warp is a nice change of pace from the hustle and bustle of the city.
